ASK A PRO

Do you have any questions regarding your denture? Ask a Pro provides answers to frequently asked questions by our patients and the general public.

Q: Do I need dentures?

A: If you currently do not have dentures and are without any natural teeth, then we could make you standard dentures! If you have gaps where you do not have teeth and still have existing teeth, we can discuss partial dentures with you.

Q: Why do I need to see a dentist before making a partial?

A: We want to make sure that all the existing teeth are strong and healthy when attaching a partial to those teeth. It also allows time if any work needs to be done prior to the partial, or if teeth need to be removed, it can change the treatment plan.

Q: What is the difference between immediate dentures vs standard dentures?

A: Immediate dentures are transitional dentures to help during the stage of healing after extractions. Standard dentures are dentures you get as the final stage after healing is complete.

Q: How often do dentures need to be replaced?

A: Dentures average around 5 to 7 years depending on how you take care of them. Different factors such as weight loss, how your gums change over time, wear and tear will affect how much time you have with your set of dentures.
